A year ago today, The Greg Hill Foundation, Samuel Adams and Boston Beer launched the Restaurant Strong Fund. It was created to support the restaurant employees who were suddenly laid off or had dramatically reduced hours due to Covid-19 restrictions and closures. We immediately began to fundraise and take in grant applications for those in need.Â
Due to the tremendous support of all of our Partners and Supporters, we were able to provide grants to 7,487 restaurant employees and restaurants totaling $7,788,500.Â
We are extremely grateful for the support and trust we have received and the impact that everyone has allowed us to make.Â
 Today, Covid-19 continues to impact the Restaurant Industry and the Restaurant Strong Fund is working hard to help those in need. In 2021 alone, we have awarded 300 grants totaling $300,000 to restaurant employees. Greg Hill, visited and surprised a few recipients with checks in person. Though the restaurant industry is still struggling today, there is hope on the horizon. Each day that passes, we get closer to restrictions being lifted and businesses opening back up to full capacity. As we all know however, this will not be as simple as a flip of a switch. There will still be months and months of struggle and we need to continue to support the Restaurant Industry as much as we possibly can.Â
